Director, Product Line Management
We are looking for an individual with strong technical, business and people skills to lead and manage Gridpoint System’s Ethernet access product portfolio throughout its life cycle.
Overall:
You are able to deliver while managing complex, conflicting demands in a fast-paced, challenging environment, working closely with internal (e.g. sales, BD, finance, R&D, manufacturing), and external (e.g. customers, media, analysts, suppliers, channel partners, government officials, etc) resources.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Captures, rationalizes, and formally communicates the market opportunity in business cases and marketing requirement specifications
- Collects and analyses business intelligence and develops targeted competitive strategies
- Explores, extracts and validates potential R&D innovations, exploiting those of business value
- Defines our product roadmap through collaboration with R&D, BD, sales and key external sources
- Provides an on-going review of market opportunities for new features and products
- Provides information on future product functionality and strategy delivered in various forms (customer presentations, commercial responses, etc)
- Is the technical authority for external contacts drawing on R&D when appropriate
- Develops value statements and propositions and generates content for product collateral ensuring the sales team fully exploits Gridpoint’s capabilities
- Develops and implements plans to ensure products are effectively launched and promoted to the target audience to generate leads, raise product awareness and build Gridpoint’s brand
- Leads and monitors the product’s progress throughout its life cycle ensuring it meets the stated objectives, adjusting the program as required
- Works closely with customers, partners and our team to meet our business objectives
- May manage other product managers or product specialists
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. degree required in relevant area (i.e. Electrical Engineering, Physics, etc.) with 7+ years of industry experience
- An MBA would be an asset
- Minimum 5 years PLM experience
- Minimum 3 years Ethernet and IP networking experience
- Strong selling, account management and presentation skills
- Knowledge and experience in all aspects of product life cycle management
